the owner has thirty (30) days, or fewer if the chief of police deems necessary, from the date of mailing to undertake corrective action
after fifteen (15) days from the mailing of the notice, the chief of police may commence any corrective action
The owner must respond with a spot blight abatement plan, acceptable to the director, within thirty (30) days from the date that the notice was sent.
submit a work plan within ninety (90) days, committing either to demolish or renovate the derelict building... assessed a civil penalty of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per month
The site plan or subdivision fees will not exceed fifty percent (50%) of the standard fees... or five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) per property, whichever is less. The building permit fees will not exceed fifty percent (50%)...
The real estate tax on an amount equal to the costs of demolition or an amount equal to the increase in the fair market value of the renovations will be abated for fifteen (15) years
The fee for such registration is one hundred dollars ($100.00); failure to register is subject to a two hundred dollars ($200.00) civil penalty. However, failure to register a vacant building in a conservation or rehabilitation district, or in an area designated as blighted, is subject to a civil penalty of four hundred dollars ($400.00).
No person is permitted to keep, except within a fully enclosed building or structure or otherwise shielded or screened from view... One (1) inoperable motor vehicle per property is exempted... abate the violation within fifteen (15) days of the notice.
An operator of a sexually oriented business commits a violation if he/she operates or causes to be operated a sexually oriented business in a zoning district which does not expressly permit that type of commercial use in said zoning district. In addition... within one thousand (1,000) feet of an existing: a. Religious institution; b. School; c. Public park; d. Boundary of a residential district; e. Another sexually oriented business; f. Licensed day care;
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to keep, except within a fully-enclosed building or structure, or otherwise shielded or screened from view, on any property zoned for residential or commercial purposes any motor vehicle, trailer, or semitrailer... which is inoperable.
The following uses of and activities in wetlands are authorized if otherwise permitted by law: construction and maintenance of noncommercial catwalks, piers, boathouses, boat shelters, fences, duckblinds, wildlife management shelters, footbridges, observation decks, and shelters and other similar structures...
It shall be unlawful and a Class 4 misdemeanor for any person to post any notices, signs, placards or posters along the streets of the city, unless the same are placed on private property and not within the streets.
No person shall place or cause to be placed any cards, signs or advertising of any kind on any telegraph, telephone or electric light pole within the city.
No person shall distribute handbills interfering with traffic, throw handbills on public places, distribute handbills advocating unlawful conduct, place handbills on private property without invitation, or enter private property to distribute handbills.
It shall be unlawful to operate any loudspeaker or communication system for advertising purposes whereby the sound may be heard beyond the boundary lines of the property. Exceptions for permitted broadcasts: sound not heard beyond 200 feet, not within 500 feet of school/church/hospital, and not between 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
No person shall sell or offer for sale at public auction, on the streets or sidewalks of the city, any goods, wares, merchandise, household furniture or other article or thing whatsoever, except real estate.
No person shall conduct any sales, commonly known as garage sales, backyard sales, yard sales and the like, at which is offered for sale secondhand or used clothing, merchandise or any used articles of whatsoever character, without first obtaining a permit therefor from the city treasurer.
All buildings erected after August 5, 1955, on Second Avenue, between Randolph Road on the north and the Norfolk & Western Railway right-of-way on the south, shall be set back five (5) feet from the property line...
All property owners owning property on City Point Road, between Main Street and Fifteenth Avenue, shall build any new structure five (5) feet back from their property line.
All buildings erected on Fifteenth Avenue, between City Point Road on the north and the Seaboard Airline Railroad right-of-way on the south, shall be set back three (3) feet from the property line...
