Floodplain
The Floodplain District (FP) is established as an overlay district. The underlying zoning district regulations remain in full force and effect, except where the provisions of this article are more restrictive. In the event of a conflict between the provisions of this article and the underlying zoning district regulations, the more restrictive provisions shall apply.

The special flood hazard districts are those areas within the jurisdiction of the Town of Culpeper identified as special flood hazard areas (SFHA) on the flood insurance rate map (FIRM) and flood insurance study (FIS) prepared by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and provided to the Town of Culpeper. These areas are designated as the Floodplain District (FP) and are overlay districts.
