Lighting
- Outdoor lighting requirements
All exterior light fixtures shall be energy efficient, produce warm-white light, avoid light pollution, be fully shielded and directed toward ground. Blinking, flashing, or oscillating lights prohibited.

- Air conditioning unit placement
Individual air conditioning units shall be located to avoid interference with architectural detail; if in storefront, window units neutral and not projecting; roof equipment screened by parapet.
- Parking access via alley
Where lot is adjacent to an alley, parking shall be accessed through the alley unless inadequate. For corner lots without alley, parking accessed from corner or reverse corner side.
Chain link, barbed, and concertina wire fences are prohibited. Tubular steel or wrought iron fences permitted.
- Loading area location
Loading spaces shall be located away from residential zones and primary pedestrian ingress/egress areas to the greatest extent possible; wherever feasible, at rear of building.

The portion of building sharing a common side or rear lot line with residentially zoned lot shall have a step back so that height is no greater than 45 feet at the edge, and recessed one foot for every one-foot increase up to max 65 feet.
- Security bars and grilles
All security bars and grilles shall be installed on the inside of a building. Roll-up shutters should be open, decorative grilles; solid shutters prohibited.
Parking
- Parking for existing structures
If new commercial use is one of listed uses in existing building legally constructed prior to Sept 22, 1970, existing on-site parking deemed in compliance. For other uses, no additional parking required if gross floor area not increased.
Signage
- Monument sign standards
Monument signs shall comply with Table 22.364.070-B.
Roof signs, digital/electronic signs, freestanding signs (except monument), billboards, flashing signs, video signs prohibited.
- Sign program requirement4 businesses
A sign program shall be established for any new multi-tenant development project that includes four or more businesses on the same lot or in the same structure.
