- Deed restriction for replacement units
As a condition of project approval, the applicant shall record a deed restriction stating that the replacement unit(s) shall be sold, let, or leased only to those households which qualify as low or moderate income.
- Mello Act compliance required
To receive approval for a demolition or conversion permit, all proposed projects shall comply with California Government Code sections 65590 and 65590.1, commonly known as the 1982 Mello Act.
- Replacement of affordable units required
As a condition of project approval, the applicant for demolition of housing occupied by low- and moderate- income households shall be required to replace each of the affordable housing units pursuant to the requirements of California Government Code section 65590.
