Lighting

  • Drop-down lenses, mercury vapor lights, ultraviolet lights, searchlights, laser lights, flashing/blinking/alternating/moving lights, sports court lighting, athletic field lighting, perimeter lighting, driveway/access road lighting, equestrian pasture lighting.

  • Maximum output for residential fixtures above 15 feet40 watts

    For properties located in a R-C, R-1, R-3, R-R, O-S or OS-P zone, outdoor light fixtures installed more than 15 feet above finished grade shall have a manufacturer's maximum output rating of no greater than 40 watts (400 lumens).

  • Maximum security lighting output60 watts

    Security lighting attached to the principally permitted structure and other permitted accessory structures that is controlled by motion detectors and shall have a manufacturer's maximum output rating of no greater than 60 watts (600 lumens), or the equivalent.

  • Shielding requirement

    Outdoor lighting shall be fully shielded, directed downward, and use best available dark skies technology.

  • This lighting shall be limited to fixtures that do not exceed two feet in height, that are directed downward, and have a manufacturer's maximum output rating of no greater than 60 watts (600 lumens), or the equivalent.
