A fence not exceeding four (4) feet in height is permitted in any yard. A fence with a maximum height of six (6) feet is permitted in any side or rear yard.
Fences and visual obstructions: Except when used in connection with a public use, fences and other visual obstructions shall be governed by the following standards:
No fencing shall be erected so as to restrict access by emergency equipment to any building. On a corner lot, no sign, fence, wall, hedge, planting, or other obstruction to vision exceeding a height of three (3) feet above center-line grades of the intersecting streets shall be erected, planted, or maintained within a distance of twenty (20) feet in either direction from the corner.
The maximum fence height may be increased to eight (8) feet in any yard when approved as part of a rezoning or site plan for the PUD Planned Unit Development district or MU-D Downtown Mixed-Use district.
