Parking space means a space used as an area for temporary storage of passenger vehicles. Such space shall be a minimum of ten feet in width and 20 feet in length, except that off-street parking facilities containing any parking spaces may use 20 percent of the total spaces as 'compact car' spaces with a minimum size of 7½ feet in width and 15 feet in length.
