- Parking lot buffer required
A landscaped buffer shall be provided between the parking lot and any adjacent street or residential district in accordance with the following standards:
- Landscaped island interval15 spaces
Landscaped islands shall be provided at the ends of parking rows and at intervals of no more than 15 spaces along each row.
- Minimum landscaped island width8 ft
Landscaped islands shall be a minimum of 8 feet in width and shall contain at least one tree and groundcover.
- Minimum landscaped area in parking lot10 pct
Parking lots shall provide a minimum of 10 percent landscaped area, calculated as the area of the parking lot including aisles and driveways.
- Parking lot landscaping threshold10 spaces
Parking lots with 10 or more spaces shall provide landscaping in accordance with this section.
- Parking lot tree species tolerance
Trees planted in parking lot islands shall be species that are tolerant of the conditions found in parking lots, including heat, salt, and limited soil volume.
- Vehicle overhang protection
Landscaped areas within parking lots shall be protected from vehicle overhang by curbs or wheel stops.
