Uses

Permitted by right4

  • Agricultural uses such as general farming, pasture, grazing, outdoor plant nurseries, horticulture, truck farming, forestry, sod farming, and wild crop harvesting
  • Public and private recreational uses such as parks, picnic areas, golf courses, boat launching ramps, hiking and horseback riding trails, game farms, fish hatcheries, wildlife preserves, shooting areas, and hunting and fishing areas
  • Accessory residential uses such as yards, gardens, play areas, and pervious parking areas
  • Temporary nonresidential uses which are removable in their entirety within thirty (30) days of the issuance of a zoning permit and which cause no increase in flood heights or velocities

  • Storage of materials or equipment that are buoyant, flammable, explosive, or injurious to human, animal, or plant life
  • Storage of materials or equipment that are subject to major damage by floods
  • Construction of any structure, except as specifically permitted in section 25-414
  • Placement of fill, except as specifically permitted in section 25-414
  • Discharge of any waste material into the floodway
  • Any use or activity that would cause an increase in flood heights or velocities

The floodway district shall be limited to uses which will not impede the flow of flood waters or cause an increase in flood levels. Permitted uses shall be limited to agricultural, recreational, accessory residential, temporary nonresidential, storage, repair, and accessory structures.
