The Code of Virginia empowers the Zoning Administrator to interpret the Zoning Ordinance when there is a need for clarity in the application and administration of zoning regulations, either generally or as applied to a specific property.

The Board of Zoning Appeals is authorized to interpret the zoning map where there is any uncertainty as to the location of a district boundary.

Sec. 18-8432 standards

Any variance authorized by the board to permit the erection or alteration of a building or structure shall be valid only for six months.
