Article 10, Sec. 10-6-87 standards

Article 11, Sections 11-6, 11-7, 11-8, 11-119 standards

All parts of signs shall be located five feet from the edge of the Virginia Department of Transportation right-of-way. Signs shall not exceed a height of 15 feet above ground level... Digital or electronically controlled message components shall comprise no more than 50 percent of sign area.

Any use and development of land for commercial, industrial, or multifamily purposes requiring a building permit and which involves a land area disturbance greater than 2,500 square feet shall require a site plan prepared and approved in accordance with the provisions of this article.

Article 23, Section 23-3-1.A.12 standards

Within any floodway area, no encroachments, including fill, new construction, substantial improvements, or other development shall be permitted unless it has been demonstrated through hydrologic and hydraulic analysis... that the proposed encroachment will not result in any increase in flood levels.

When such base flood elevation data is utilized, the bottom of the lowest horizontal structural member of the lowest floor shall be elevated to or above the base flood level.

All new construction and substantial improvements of residential structures shall have the lowest floor, including basement, elevated to or above the flood depth specified on the FIRM... If no flood depth number is specified, the lowest floor... shall be elevated no less than two feet above the highest adjacent grade.

Article 23, Section 23-3-1.A.51 standards

Buildings and structures within this zone shall have the bottom of the lowest horizontal structural member of the lowest floor elevated to or above the base flood elevation plus 18 inches of freeboard, and must comply with the provisions in subsection 23-3-1.A.2 and subsections 23-4-2 and 23-4-3.

All new construction and substantial improvements in Zones V and VE, including manufactured homes, shall be elevated on pilings or columns so that the bottom of the lowest horizontal structural member... is elevated to or above the base flood level plus 18 inches if parallel... or at least two feet above the base flood level if perpendicular.
