- Flood protection works required
All permanent buildings are to be protected from flooding by dikes, levees, or other flood protection works whose design has been approved by the department of public works and/or responsible state agencies.
- Minimum elevation above floodwater plain1 ft
An earth pad shall be constructed ... so that the top of the concrete floor slab or the bottom of the beams supporting the finished wood floor of a wood frame building, or the bases of the supports of a mobile home, will be a minimum of one foot above the floodwater plain.
- Sewage disposal flood protection
Individual sewage disposal systems shall be protected by flood control devices approved by the health department and/or responsible state agencies so as to minimize the potential infiltration of floodwaters into the systems and discharges from the systems into the floodwaters.
- Water supply flood protection
Sources of domestic water supply, e.g. wells and springs, shall be protected by flood-control devices approved by the health department and/or responsible state agencies so as to minimize the infiltration of floodwaters thereinto.
