- Public service and storage buildings
- Railroad train stations, bus, and taxi stands
- Museums
- Public recreation areas, athletic fields, stadiums, and arenas
- Publicly owned areas and grounds for outdoor events such as circuses, carnivals, fairs, and sideshows

- Communications facilities
- Publicly owned television and radio transmitting antennas (if over 55 feet in height and not exempt from local regulations under state and federal law)
- Publicly owned recreational vehicle parks
- Facilities such as local, state or federal facilities for the incarceration of criminals or those charged with crimes, such as jails or prisons

- Accessory buildings or uses that are incidental to permitted or other accessory uses on the property (in example, sheds, maintenance buildings, etc.)
