• Manager on site

  At least one manager shall be on site during all hours of operation of the emergency shelter.

  A single emergency shelter housing up to a maximum ten beds or persons to be served per night, or a combination of multiple shelters with a combined capacity not to exceed ten beds or persons per night, shall be a permitted use on any parcel within the General Industrial (GI) District.

  The maximum stay of a given person at the emergency shelter shall not exceed a total of 180 days (cumulative, even if not consecutive) within a 365-day period.

  In no event shall an emergency shelter be established within 300 feet of an existing emergency shelter, as measured from the property line.

  The emergency shelter shall provide off-street parking at the ratio of one space per five beds and/or one-half spaces per bedroom designed as a family unit with children, plus one space per employee or volunteer staff member on duty.

  The emergency shelter shall provide a minimum of one toilet and one shower per gender for every five beds, and a minimum of one private shower and toilet facility for each area designated for use by individual families.

• Staff ratio1 per 5 beds

  The manager must be accompanied by one supporting staff member for every five beds, or fraction thereof, in the facility.
