A sign permit is not required for: ... (4) Temporary signs as follows: a. One sign, located on a property where a building permit is active, with a total area of up to 16 square feet and a maximum height of six feet when the sign abuts a road with a speed limit of 25 miles per hour or less, when the sign abuts a road with a speed limit greater than 25 miles per hour but less than 55 miles per hour not more than one sign with a total area of up to 32 square feet and maximum height of eight feet. b. On any property for sale or rent, not more than one sign with a total area of up to 16 square feet and a maximum height of six feet when the sign abuts a road with a speed limit of 25 miles per hour or less, when the sign abuts a road with a speed limit greater than 25 miles per hour but less than 55 miles per hour not more than one sign with a total area of up to 32 square feet and maximum height of eight feet. ... d. On a property containing a residential use, one or more temporary signs with a total area of no more than 16 square feet, and which are removed within 90 days after being erected. ... f.
