The following signs are permitted in the Colonial Williamsburg Historic Area sign district: (1) Signs which are determined by the Architectural Review Board to be consistent with the 18th-century character of the Colonial Williamsburg Historic Area. (2) Signs which are necessary for the direction and safety of the public, including traffic control signs, street name signs, and directional signs, provided such signs are approved by the Architectural Review Board.
