Parking

  • Prohibition on backing onto public road

    New parking spaces that require backing out onto a public road shall be prohibited.

  • Disabled parking space dimensions

    All spaces for disabled parking shall have minimum dimensions of 13 feet by 20 feet.

  • Maximum gradient for disabled parking1 ft per 20 ft

    At no point shall the gradient exceed one foot rise or fall in 20 feet.

  • Driveway width for one-way traffic

    driveways shall be not less than ten feet or exceed 15 feet in width for one-way traffic

  • Driveway width for two-way traffic

    less than 18 feet or exceed 30 feet in width for two-way traffic

  • Minimum distance from intersection50 ft

    exits and entrances shall not be located within 50 feet of a street intersection or be greater than 50 feet in width.

  • Rounding of fractional parking spaces

    Where a fractional space results during calculation of required parking, the required number of parking spaces shall be construed to be the next highest whole number.

  • Minimum length for parallel parking22 ft

    Wherever parking areas consist of spaces set aside for parallel parking, the dimensions of such parking spaces shall be not less than 22 feet in length.

  • Maximum distance for off-site parking300 ft

    required spaces may be located and maintained not to exceed 300 feet from an institutional building or other non-residential building served.

  • Parking space dimensions for gravel lots

    parking spaces in gravel or similarly surfaced parking lots shall be ten feet wide by 20 feet long.
