All battery energy storage systems... shall be designed, erected, and installed in accordance with all applicable provisions of the codes, regulations, and industry standards as referenced in the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code, the Virginia Energy Conservation Code, and the Code of the County of Surry.

Battery energy storage systems shall be considered an accessory use in residential, civic, commercial, and industrial uses and properties in any zoning district when designed with appropriate storage capacity to serve the principal use only and not the electric power grid.
