Parking

• Threshold for large parking lot design300 spaces

  Public parking lots that contain 300 or more parking spaces must be organized into a series of parking bays separated by buildings, landscaping, or primary drive aisles

• Pedestrian pathway frequency200 ft

  One pathway must be provided every 200 feet of parking lot width

• Minimum pedestrian pathway width5 ft

  The pathways must be at least five feet wide

• Shade tree spacing along pathway40 ft

  The strips must be planted with shade trees with a maximum spacing of 40 feet on-center, measured linearly along the pathway.

• Minimum sidewalk width along primary drive aisle5 ft

  Include a sidewalk or curb-delineated pedestrian passageway at least five feet wide along the front façade of each building façade parallel to the drive aisle

• Street tree spacing along primary drive aisle40 ft

  Include street trees along both sides with an average spacing of 40 feet on-center with at least five trees every 200 feet.

• Shopping cart access spacing75 ft

  Any pathway serving retail uses must be at the same grade as the abutting parking service or must provide access points for persons pushing shopping carts spaced no more than every 75 feet along each side of the pathway.
