Floodplain
- Anchoring to prevent flotation
New construction and substantial improvements shall be according to the VA USBC, and anchored to prevent flotation, collapse or lateral movement of the structure.

Other
- Base flood elevation data for subdivisions
Base flood elevation data shall be provided for subdivision proposals and other proposed development proposals (including manufactured home parks and subdivisions) that exceed fifty lots or five acres, whichever is the lesser.
- Encroachment prohibition in floodway

The basis for the delineation of these districts shall be the Flood Insurance Study (FIS) and the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) for the City of Danville prepared by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Federal Insurance Administration, dated September 29, 2010.
