Floodplain

  • Base flood elevation data required for subdivision proposals

    Base flood elevation data shall be provided for subdivision proposals and other proposed development proposals that exceed fifty (50) lots or five (5) acres, whichever is the lesser.

  • Base flood elevation data from other sources

    When base flood elevation data or floodway data have not been provided, the Zoning Administrator shall obtain, review, and reasonably utilize any base flood elevation and floodway data available from a federal, state, or any other source.

The Approximated Floodplain District, also referred to as the A Zone, as illustrated on the FIRM accompanying the Flood Insurance Study (FIS) shall be those areas for which no detailed flood profiles or elevations are provided, but the one (1) percent annual chance floodplain boundary has been approximated.
