Signage

• Sign illumination must be constant intensity

  Any illuminated sign shall employ only light of constant intensity, and no sign shall be illuminated by or contain flashing, rotating, intermittent, or moving light or lights.

• Sign illumination must not cause glare

  In no event shall an illuminated sign or lighting device be placed or directed so as to permit the beams and illumination therefrom to be directed or beamed upon a public street, highway, sidewalk, or adjacent premises so as to cause glare or reflection that may constitute a traffic hazard or nuisance.

• Sign illumination must not shine into residential dwellings

  No sign shall be illuminated in such a way that light may shine into on-coming traffic, affect highway safety, or shine directly into a residential dwelling unit.

• Maximum projection of projecting signs6 ft

  Projecting signs shall not extend more than 6 feet beyond the face of the building or beyond a vertical plane two feet inside the curb line.

• Minimum clearance for signs over walkways8 ft

  Signs projecting over public walkways shall be a minimum height of 8 feet from grade level to the bottom of the sign.

  No sign shall be located closer than five feet to any right-of-way line.
