Signage

• Conspicuous vehicle signs prohibitedProhibitedNot allowed in the district at all, short of rezoning or a variance.

  Any sign mounted or painted on or otherwise affixed to any parked vehicle, parked trailer, or other parked device capable of being towed, which is obviously and conspicuously parked so as to advertise the business to the passing motorist or pedestrian, and for which the primary purpose is to provide additional on-site signage or is to serve the function of an outdoor advertising sign.

• Flashing signs prohibitedProhibitedNot allowed in the district at all, short of rezoning or a variance.

  No flashing signs or signs containing strings of lights shall be permitted in any district.

• Outdoor advertising signs prohibitedProhibitedNot allowed in the district at all, short of rezoning or a variance.

  Outdoor advertising signs, including billboards, are prohibited unless otherwise specified.

• Permanent pennants and banners prohibitedProhibitedNot allowed in the district at all, short of rezoning or a variance.

  Permanent pennants, banners, festoons, streamers, and all other flutter, spinning or similar type signs and advertising devices are prohibited, except for national flags, political subdivision flags, two decorative house flags per household, and up to four projecting banners per structure in TW-C district.

• Roof signs prohibitedProhibitedNot allowed in the district at all, short of rezoning or a variance.

  No sign which is not an integral part of the building design shall be fastened to and supported by or on the roof of a building.

• Signs on trees/utility poles prohibitedProhibitedNot allowed in the district at all, short of rezoning or a variance.

  No sign, except official notices of the City of Danville, shall be attached to trees, utility poles, public property, improvements within public rights of way, or on any unapproved supporting structure.

• Signs projecting over public ROW prohibitedProhibitedNot allowed in the district at all, short of rezoning or a variance.

  No signs shall project over public right-of-way without express permission of the Planning Commission, except for permitted flat signs which may project not more than 18 inches.
