Floodplain
- Base flood elevation determination
When elevations cannot be determined by using other sources of data, then the applicant for the proposed use, development or activity, with the assistance of the county shall determine an elevation using technical concepts such as point on boundary, high water marks, or hydrologic and hydraulic analysis.
- Lowest floor elevation
When such base elevation has been determined, the lowest first finished floor shall be elevated to or above the base flood elevation and meet the floodproofing requirements for elevated structures.
- No development increasing flood heights
Until a regulatory floodway is designated no new construction, substantial improvements, or other development including fill, will be permitted within these areas until it has been demonstrated that the cumulative effect of the proposed development will not increase the water surface elevation of the base flood more than one foot at any point.
