  • Breakaway wall design load20 psf

    Breakaway wall shall have a design safe loading resistance of not less than 10 and no more than 20 pounds per square foot.

  • Dry floodproofing for non-residential

    Non-residential buildings may be dry-floodproofed in lieu of being elevated provided that all areas below BFE+1ft are watertight.

  • Engineer certification

    No building permit shall be issued unless the applicant submits a certification from a registered architect or engineer that the construction meets flood damage protection requirements.

    All subdivision proposals shall be consistent with the need to minimize flood damage; have public utilities located to minimize flood damage; have adequate drainage; and include base flood elevation data.

New construction or substantial improvement of any residential building shall have the lowest floor elevated to or above the base flood elevation plus 1-foot. Trailer camps, manufactured homes, and mobile homes are not permitted in any floodplain district.
