  For any residential lot, single-story front porches with a maximum depth of ten feet shall be permitted in any required front or side yard.

  Freestanding or wall mounted residential mechanical equipment, provided it can be demonstrated to the director that it will not exceed a noise level of 55 decibels (55 dB(A)) when measured at any property line of the lot.
