  • Access to amenities

    The affordable units shall have access to the same amenities as the market rate units included within the affordable ownership cost or affordable rent for the affordable unit.

    The number of bedrooms in the affordable units shall be comparable to the average number of bedrooms in the market-rate units, include comparable square feet by unit size and the affordable units shall be reasonably dispersed within the residential development project.

    No household may occupy an affordable unit until the Community Development Director or designee has approved a Below Market Rate Tenant Selection and Management Plan prepared by the developer.

  • Exterior appearance compatibility

    The exterior appearance of the affordable units shall be compatible with that of market-rate units.

  • Interior finishes and amenities

    Interior finishes and amenities may not differ from those provided in the base model market rate units.

  • Local preference

    developers shall grant a preference in the affordable units produced as required by this Article, to: (1) eligible households displaced by any activity ... of the City

  • Principal residence requirement

    Any household that occupies an affordable unit must occupy that unit as its principal residence, unless otherwise approved in writing for rental to a third party for a limited period of time due to household hardship.

  • Quality of construction

    All affordable units required by this Article shall be comparable to the overall quality of construction to market-rate units in the same housing development.
