General provisions
38 rules that bind every district rather than one — sign regulations, parking, floodplain and the rest of the code’s citywide chapters.
Nonconforming uses may be maintained and continued, provided there is no expansion in the area or volume occupied or devoted to the nonconforming use, and no increase in intensity of the nonconforming use, except as provided in this Section.
The measurement of lot area does not include any areas within canal rights-of-way that are under separate ownership from the lot (e.g., Highline Canal).
