General provisions
8 rules that bind every district rather than one — sign regulations, parking, floodplain and the rest of the code’s citywide chapters.
This Chapter establishes general regulations for subdivisions as governed by the Subdivision Map Act.
Public: min lot none, setbacks front 25, side 15, street side 25, rear 25, lot coverage 20%, height 35 ft, residential units min 400 sq ft.
Floodway: min lot none, front setback none, side 15, street side 25, rear 25, lot coverage 20%, height 35 ft, residential units min 400 sq ft.
The uses permitted on a parcel which has an overlay district shall be those uses allowed by the primary land use/zoning district subject to the provisions of all applicable overlay districts.
The provisions of this Chapter shall apply to all lands within the City that are designated with an overlay district on the General Plan Land Use Map. Where there is a conflict of conflicting development standards between the underlying land use/zoning district and the overlay district, which standards apply shall be determined as follows: 1. The overlay district standards shall govern where they are more restrictive than the underlying district standards.
All institutional uses shall be located within 1,000 feet of an expressway, arterial street or collector street, and have an adequate, improved private drive.
The following conditions may apply to areas subject to periodic landslides, subsidence and soil liquefaction as may be indicated on applicable resource maps:
Development of all structures shall take place 50 feet or farther from any active earthquake fault traces.
