  • Abandonment after idle

    A surface mining operation that remains idle for over one year without obtaining approval of an interim management plan shall be considered abandoned.

  • Annual inspection

    The community development department shall arrange for inspection of a surface mining operation within six months of receipt of the annual report. No more than one inspection per twelve-month period.

  • Annual report required

    The owner of a surface mining operation shall forward an annual report to the community development department and the supervisor of mine reclamation.

  • In addition to findings for the approval of conditional use permits (Section 21.19.050), approval for surface mining operations shall include a finding that the project complies with the provisions of state law and regulations.
