Lighting

  • Lighting hooded

    Lighting where provided to illuminate such parking, sales or display areas shall be hooded and so arranged and controlled so as not to cause a nuisance either to highway traffic or to the living environment.

    Where such areas adjoin a residential district, there shall be a border of appropriate landscaping not less than ten feet in depth, along the residential street frontage, to protect the character of the adjoining residential property.

Parking

  • Where no wall is required along a boundary of an area covered by this section, there shall be a concrete curb or timber barrier not less than six inches in height securely installed and maintained as a safeguard to abutting property or public right-of-way.

  • The barrier shall be not less than three feet from any property line on the subject property.

  • No backing into pedestrian access way

    In no case shall parking spaces be so arranged that ingress or egress from a parking space requires backing into a public or private pedestrian access way.

  • No backing onto major/secondary street

    Automobile parking so arranged as to require the backing out of motor vehicles from a parking space, garage, or other structure onto a major or secondary street as designated on the circulation element of the city, shall be prohibited when either or both of the following conditions exist: ...

  • No required parking space requiring moving vehicle

    No required parking space shall be so located as to require the moving of any vehicle on the premises in order to enter or leave any other stall. The preceding sentence need not apply in the event that a parking facility has an attendant present at all times during the use of the facility.

  • Off-site parking sign

    The location of off-site parking areas shall be noted by an appropriate sign located both at the parking generator and at the parking facility.

  • Access to parking spaces

    All access to individual parking spaces on a lot or portion of a lot designated for parking shall be from the lot or portion of a lot or from a public alley.

  • Parking area improvement

    All areas shall be graded, surfaced, and drained; and parking stalls, lanes and directional guides shall be marked in accordance with the standards adopted by the commission.
