Floodplain
- Base elevation data required for large subdivisions
All subdivision proposals and other proposed developments greater than fifty (50) lots or five (5) acres shall require base elevation data.

- Elevation Certificate required
The applications shall include a County of Orange 'Elevation Certificate' identifying the base flood elevation and certifying that the planned elevation of the lowest floor, including basements, is at least one (1) foot above the base flood elevation.
- Federal and State permits required
The application shall include evidence that all necessary permits as required by Federal and State law, including Section 404 of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act Amendments of 1972, have been received.
- Dry or wet floodproofing required
Applicable dry or wet floodproofing have been applied to the project.
- Maximum increase in water surface elevation1 ft
This means that the cumulative effect of the proposed development when combined with all other existing and anticipated development shall not increase the water surface elevation of the base flood more than one (1) foot.
- Letter of Map Revision required
When base flood elevation changes occur due to physical alterations, the applicant shall submit technical or scientific data as part of their application to FEMA for a letter of map revision (LOMR).
