Parking

  • Additional curbing width for landscaped areas12 in

    Parking spaces adjacent along their length to landscaped areas or other similar surfaces shall incorporate an additional curbing width of 12 inches (for a total of 18 inches) to provide a place to stand while exiting and entering vehicles.

  • Covered parking per unit1 space per unit

    At least one space per unit shall be covered (i.e., within a garage or carport).

  • Continuous concrete curbing at least six inches high and six inches wide shall be provided along the edges of parking spaces adjacent to fences, walls, sidewalks, other structures, and landscaping.

  • Minimum interior landscaping percentage5 pct

    A minimum of five percent of the total off-street parking area shall be landscaped with trees, shrubs, and ground cover.

  • Maximum parking grade10 pct

    Parking areas should not exceed a grade of five percent, and shall not exceed 10 percent measured in any direction.

  • Parking space width increase1 ft

    The width of a parking space shall be increased by one foot if either side of the space is adjacent to a wall, fence, support column or other structure.

  • For any unit which is located farther than 150 feet from a street designed to accommodate parking, 4 spaces per unit.

  • Parking lot buffer adjacent to residential10 ft

    Parking areas for nonresidential uses adjoining residential uses shall provide a landscaped buffer yard with a minimum 10-foot width exclusive of curbing between the parking area and the common property line bordering the residential use.

  • Parking lot perimeter landscaping adjacent to side/rear5 ft

    Parking areas shall provide a perimeter landscaped strip at least five feet wide exclusive of curbing, where the facility adjoins a side or rear property line.

  • Parking lot perimeter landscaping adjacent to street10 ft

    Parking areas adjoining a public street shall be designed to provide a 10-foot wide landscaped planting strip, exclusive of curbing, between the street right-of-way and parking area.

  • Planter minimum dimension4 ft

    Planters with trees shall have a minimum interior dimension of four feet.

  • Queuing area depth for non-residential20 ft

    Non-residential parking lots shall also provide queuing area between the street and the first point where vehicles may maneuver within the parking lot. The queuing area shall have a minimum depth of 20 feet.

  • Residential parking space dimensions20 ft length

    Parking spaces within carports and garages shall have minimum dimensions of 20 feet in length by 10 feet in width.

  • Tree ratio in parking lot3 spaces per tree

    Trees shall be provided throughout the parking area at a minimum ratio of one tree for every three parking spaces in a row.

  • Vertical clearance for non-residential parking14 ft

    A minimum unobstructed clearance height of 14 feet shall be maintained above areas accessible to vehicles in non-residential parking facilities.
