- Application Content
Application shall include inventory of on-site trees, statement of purpose, and size/species of replacement trees.
- Exceptions
Exceptions include trees identified for removal as part of a Use Permit, Development Permit or Subdivision; on developed residentially-zoned property; hazardous condition; trunks less than 10 inches diameter; parcels 3 acres or more; public right-of-way.
- Tree Removal Permit
No person, firm or corporation shall remove or cause to be removed any tree located outside a Timberland Preserve Zone (TPZ) and within the Nevada City Sphere of Influence as adopted by the Local Agency Formation Commission without first obtaining a tree removal permit from the Planning Director.
- Removal Standards
A tree may be removed only when dead/diseased, crowded, interfering with utilities/structures, obstructing improvements, or inhibiting solar access.
- Tagging Required
Trees proposed for removal shall be identified by flagging, staking, painting or other suitable means.
