Child Day-Care Facilities (land use). This land use consists of the provision of nonmedical care and supervision of minor children for periods of less than 24 hours. This land use includes the following types of facilities, all of which are required to be licensed by the California State Department of Social Services: 1. Child Day-Care Center (land use). This land use consists of commercial or non-profit child day-care facilities designed and approved to accommodate 15 or more children. 2. Large Family Day-Care Home (land use). This land use consists of a day-care facility located in a single-family residence where an occupant of the residence provides care and supervision for eight to 14 children. 3. Small Family Day-Care Home (land use). This land use consists of a day-care facility located in a single-family residence where an occupant of the residence provides care and supervision for either six or fewer children, or eight or fewer children provided that no more than two of the children are under the age of two and at least two of the children are over the age of six.
