Other

  • Encroachments, including fill, new construction, substantial improvements and other developments are prohibited unless certification such as hydrologic and hydraulic analyses is provided demonstrating that encroachments shall not result in any increase in flood levels.

  • A floodplain development permit is required for all development in the -FO district pursuant to the requirements of Sec. 98-7.12.

  • Floodproofing certification by engineer/architect

    A qualified engineer or architect shall certify that the floodproofing methods are adequate to withstand the flood depths, pressures, velocities, impact, and uplift forces.

  • The manufactured home chassis is supported by reinforced piers or other foundation elements of at least an equivalent strength, of no less than 36 inches in height above the grade.

  • Maximum consecutive days for recreational vehicle180 days

    No recreational vehicles may be placed on sites except for non-residential use and then shall either be on the site for fewer than 180 consecutive days, or be fully licensed and ready for highway use.

  • The total net area of all openings must be at least one square inch for each square foot of enclosed area subject to flooding.

    Foundation vents shall have a minimum of two openings having a total net area of not less than one square inch for every square foot of enclosed area subject to flooding.

  • Lowest floor elevation above design flood elevation1 ft

    All new construction and substantial improvement of structures shall have the lowest floor, including basement, elevated at least one foot above the design flood elevation.

No land shall be developed and no structure shall be located, relocated, constructed, reconstructed, enlarged or structurally altered in the -FO district except in full compliance with the terms and provisions of this section.
