The lawful use of land or water existing on the effective date of this article, or any amendment thereto, may be continued, although such use does not conform to the provisions of this article. However, no such nonconforming use shall be expanded, changed, altered, or extended, and no structural repair or replacement shall be made to a nonconforming structure that would exceed the height limitations set forth in this article.

The height limitations of this article shall not apply to the construction, installation, or maintenance of overhead transmission lines of public and private electric and telephone utilities, provided that such lines are constructed, installed, and maintained in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations and do not create a hazard to air navigation.

No person shall erect, alter, or cause to be erected or altered, any structure or vegetation, or permit any structure or vegetation to remain, within any zone established by this article, without first obtaining a permit from the administrator or his designee.

No use may be made of land or water in any zone created by this article in a manner that would create or cause interference with the operation of aircraft or that would create a hazard to air navigation. Such prohibited uses include, but are not limited to: (1) The creation of electrical interference with radio communication between the airport and aircraft; (2) The making of any glarings or reflections that would impair the vision of a pilot; (3) The emission of smoke, dust, or other particulate matter that would impair the visibility of a pilot; or (4) Any other use that would endanger the landing, taking off, or maneuvering of aircraft.

The height limitations of this article shall not apply to temporary structures, provided that such structures are used for a period not to exceed 30 days and are removed upon the expiration of such period.
Parking

No motor vehicle shall be parked in any approach zone in a manner that would create a hazard to air navigation.

No structure or vegetation shall be erected, altered, or permitted to grow in any zone created by this article to a height in excess of the applicable height limit established by the surfaces as defined in section 66-842 and as set forth in the regulations.
