Signage

  • Construction sign removal

    These signs shall be removed by the time a permanent sign is erected or a Certificate of Occupancy Part B for the building is issued, whichever occurs first.

  • Construction sign timing

    Temporary signs announcing new buildings or projects are permitted to be erected only after the commencement of building construction or site development.

  • Illegal sign removal

    The Town Manager may remove or order the removal of any sign not in conformance with the provisions of this Ordinance, at the expense of the sign owner.

  • Immediate peril sign removal

    A sign shall be removed immediately if the Town Manager finds the sign to be an immediate peril to persons or property.

  • Each construction site shall be limited to one construction sign not exceeding thirty-two (32) square feet in area.

  • No nonconforming sign shall be enlarged, extended, structurally reconstructed or altered in any manner, except that a sign face may be changed.

  • Sign permit expiration period12 months

    If an approved sign is not erected within a period of 12 months from the date the permit was originally issued, the permit shall expire and become null and void.

  • Vacated business sign removal

    Any nonconforming sign associated with a business or structure, which has ceased to operate or has become vacant, shall be determined to be illegal after 12 months.
