Fencing & walls

• Barbed/razor wire prohibitedProhibitedNot allowed in the district at all, short of rezoning or a variance.

  Use of barbed wire, razor wire, concertina wire and/or other security enhancement devices is prohibited except for security protection of Town and/or government facilities, structures and/or utilities if approved by resolution of the Town Council.

• Finished side orientation

  Any fences shall have the finished side facing the street and the properties that are adjacent or abutting.

• Maximum baseball backstop heightMaximum heightThe tallest a building may be, given in feet, in storeys, or both — whichever binds first.20 ft

  Baseball backstops may be a maximum of twenty (20) feet in height for the center panel and twelve (12) feet in height for the wings.

• Maximum fence heightMaximum heightThe tallest a building may be, given in feet, in storeys, or both — whichever binds first.6 ft

  Fences shall be a maximum of six (6) feet in height within the area of any required yard setback

• Maximum front fence heightMaximum heightThe tallest a building may be, given in feet, in storeys, or both — whichever binds first. (residential)4 ft

  Fences on residentially zoned properties shall not exceed four (4) feet in height between the front of the principal building and street.

• Maximum recreation fence heightMaximum heightThe tallest a building may be, given in feet, in storeys, or both — whichever binds first.12 ft

  Fences on outdoor recreation fields and courts may be a maximum of twelve (12) feet in height.

• Retaining wall setbackSetbackThe distance a building must be held back from a lot line. required5 ft

  Building setbacks, as described in Article 2, shall apply to all retaining walls five (5) feet or greater in height and all decorative walls four (4) feet or greater in height.
