Design

Proposed architectural design is suitable for Purcellville's historic small-town character in terms of external architectural features, including signs subject to public view, general design and arrangement, texture, color, line, form, scale, mass, dimension, material and lighting.

The architectural control overlay district (ACOD) consists of all land areas in the town that are zoned other than residential. In addition, any lot, parcel or area of land within any area zoned for residences, which is used for other than residences, or which is the subject of an application for a special use permit, special exception or building involving any such other use, is also considered to be part of the architectural control overlay district.
