  • Compliance with erosion and sediment control law

    Agricultural operations shall comply with the applicable provisions of the Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control Law and the Virginia Stormwater Management Law.

  • Nutrient management plan required

    Agricultural operations shall implement nutrient management plans in accordance with the applicable provisions of state law and the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation's nutrient management program.

  • Vegetated buffers may be required

    The County may require the establishment of vegetated buffers along water bodies and wetlands adjacent to agricultural operations where the County determines that such buffers are necessary to protect water quality.

Agricultural uses within the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Area Overlay District shall be conducted in accordance with best management practices to minimize the discharge of pollutants to water bodies and wetlands.
