From the ordinance
A minimum of eight (8) percent of the interior portions of a shopping center parking lot shall be landscaped. Such interior landscaping shall be provided on raised islands at least one hundred (100) square feet in area with sides measuring at least five (5) feet in length. Within the parking lot, raised islands shall be reasonably dispersed throughout to break up the expanse of paving. One (1) tree must be planted for every two hundred (200) square feet per island and three (3) shrubs with a minimum height of two (2) feet for each tree.
