Signage

• Maximum number of signs for nonresidential uses in residential districts2 count

  Maximum number of signs: 1 per street frontage up to a maximum of 2 per lot. No more than 1 of any type of sign shall be permitted per lot.

• Monument and wall sign maximum area for nonresidential uses in residential districts10 sqftsq ftSquare feet. An acre is 43,560 sq ft; a typical suburban lot is 7,000–10,000.

  Monument and wall signs shall be no more than 10 square feet.

• Permitted sign types for nonresidential uses in residential districts

  Type of signs permitted: Address, Art Display, Banner, Flag or pennant, Lawn, Monument, Mural, Pole, Portable, Projecting, Security, directional, and warning, Wall, Window.

• Projecting sign maximum area for nonresidential uses in residential districts5 sqftsq ftSquare feet. An acre is 43,560 sq ft; a typical suburban lot is 7,000–10,000.

  Projecting signs shall be no more than 5 square feet.

• Sign setbackSetbackThe distance a building must be held back from a lot line. in front yards for nonresidential uses in residential districts10 ft

  Signs in front yards shall be setback a minimum of 10 feet from property lines, public right of way, or access easements and outside the required sight distance at intersections and driveways.

• Total sign area per lot for nonresidential uses in residential districts30 sqftsq ftSquare feet. An acre is 43,560 sq ft; a typical suburban lot is 7,000–10,000.

  Total area of signage per lot: 30 square feet.

• Wall sign maximum heightMaximum heightThe tallest a building may be, given in feet, in storeys, or both — whichever binds first. for nonresidential uses in residential districts10 ft

  Height of wall sign: No more than 10 feet from the ground.

• Sign placement in side and rear yards for nonresidential uses in residential districts

  Signs shall not be placed in side or rear yards, except for through lots, which may have a sign in each of the front yards. A corner lot may only have a sign in 1 front yard.

• Monument sign limit per external street entrance1 count

  One monument sign shall be authorized per external street entrance into the subdivision or community.

• Permitted sign types in residential developments

  Type of signs permitted: Banner, Bulletin board, Flag or pennant, Lawn, Monument, Pole, Portable, Security, directional, and warning.

• Sign location in residential developments

  Signs shall only be located on commonly owned land within the subdivision or community owned by the developer or homeowners' association.

• Lawn signs on individual residential lots

  Lawn signs shall be permitted without a sign permit and shall not count towards the total number of permanent signs.

• Maximum number of additional signs on individual residential lot1 count

  Not more than 2 flags, and not more than 1 additional sign, shall be permitted per lot.

• Maximum number of flags on individual residential lot2 count

  Not more than 2 flags, and not more than 1 additional sign, shall be permitted per lot.

• Permitted sign types on individual residential lots

  Permitted sign types are: Address, Banner, Flag, Lawn, Pole, Security, directional, or warning, Wall.
