Floodplain
- Exclusions from substantial improvement
The term 'substantial improvement (in a floodplain)' does not include either: (i) any project for improvement of a structure to correct existing violations of state or local health, sanitary, or safety code specifications which have been identified by the local code enforcement official and which are the minimum, necessary to ensure safe living conditions; or (ii) any alteration of a historic structure, provided that the alteration will not preclude the structure's continued designation as a historic structure.

In all zoning districts, the building height shall be calculated as the vertical distance measured from the average elevation of the finished grade adjoining the building at the front wall only to the highest point of the roof for flat roofs, to the deck line of mansard roofs, and to the mean height between the highest eaves and the highest ridge of gambrel, hip and gable roofs.
