Lighting
- Automatic lighting extinguishment
All exterior lighting must be extinguished between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. except for specified exemptions.
- Full cutoff lighting fixtures
Lighting fixtures must be full cutoff so that the emitted light is not projected above the horizontal plane of the shield, or bulb enclosure, and the bulb is recessed or level with the lowest portion of the lighting shield.
- Maximum correlated color temperature3,000 K
All new luminaires must be rated 3000K or less Correlated Color Temperature (CCT).
- Maximum illumination at lot line0.25 foot-candles
Lighting must not cause illumination in excess of 0.25 foot-candles above background light levels measured at the lot line of any adjacent lot or road right-of-way.
- Maximum exterior lighting heightMaximum heightThe tallest a building may be, given in feet, in storeys, or both — whichever binds first.25 ft
The maximum overall height for any exterior lighting is 25 feet unless a lesser or greater maximum height is specified in use-specific standards, approved proffers, or Special Exception or Variance Conditions of Approval.
- Recreational field lighting curfew
Recreational and Athletic Fields must be turned off by 11:00 p.m.
- Recreational field maximum illumination10 foot-candles
Recreational and Athletic Fields must not cause illumination in excess of 10 foot-candles above background light levels measured at the lot line of any adjacent lot or road right-of-way.
- Use-specific lighting extinguishment
All exterior lighting must be turned off between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. except for specified exemptions.
- Use-specific pole mounted lighting heightMaximum heightThe tallest a building may be, given in feet, in storeys, or both — whichever binds first.15 ft
The maximum height of pole mounted exterior lighting must not exceed 15 feet for uses with use-specific standards.
