  • Accepted materials

    Recycling Collection Centers may only accept glass, metals, plastics, papers, corrugated cardboard, and other identified reusable recyclable items. Hazardous or toxic materials must not be accepted.

  • Container distance from residential150 ft

    Recycling containers must be at least 150 feet from any residential use.

  • Daylight hours operation

    Operation of centers must occur during daylight hours, unless located within commercial or industrial areas equipped with lighting capable of illuminating the center during periods of darkness.

  • Maximum aggregate area3,000 sqftsq ftSquare feet. An acre is 43,560 sq ft; a typical suburban lot is 7,000–10,000.

    The maximum aggregate area of all recycling containers (which may be portable), and permanent or semi-permanent structures is 3,000 square feet.

    All Recycling Collection Centers must be screened from other uses on the same parcel and adjacent residential uses in accordance with Section 7.04.03.

    A minimum of 1 stacking or parking space per 500 square feet of the Recycling Collection Center, or the anticipated peak customer load as determined by the Zoning Administrator, whichever is higher, is required on-site.
