A dwelling of any type erected, altered or maintained as such in a less restricted district than that for which the regulations governing such dwelling are specified shall comply with the regulations governing the use, area, building height, yard and other requirements of the respective type of dwelling as if such dwelling were erected, altered or maintained in the district in which the regulations apply.
