Landscaping & trees

• Berm maximum heightMaximum heightThe tallest a building may be, given in feet, in storeys, or both — whichever binds first.4 ft

  Berms shall have a maximum height of four feet above the toe of the berm.

• Berm maximum slope ratio2 ratio

  The slope of all berms shall not exceed a 2:1 ratio (horizontal to vertical).

• Berm minimum top width0.5 ratio

  Berms shall have a top width at least one-half the berm height.

• Building perimeter landscape coverage50 pct

  Fifty percent of the perimeter of the principal structure shall have a landscape strip.

• Building perimeter landscape width7.5 ft

  Fifty percent of the perimeter of the principal structure shall have a landscape strip with a minimum width of seven and one-half feet.

• Evergreen shrub requirement50 pct

  At least one-half of the required shrubs shall be of an evergreen variety.

• Flowering tree substitution25 pct

  Flowering ornamental trees, a minimum caliper of one and one-half inches, may be substituted on a one-for-one basis, for up to 25 percent of required canopy trees.

• Maximum species diversity (20-40 trees)33 pct

  When more than 20 but fewer than 40 trees are required to be planted on site, no more than 33 percent shall be of one single species.

• Maximum species diversity (40+ trees)25 pct

  When 40 or more trees are required on a site, no more than 25 percent of the required trees shall be of a single species.

• Maximum species diversity (under 20 trees)50 pct

  When fewer than 20 trees are required on a site, no more than 50 percent shall be of one type.

• Minimum canopy tree caliper2 in

  Canopy trees shall be a minimum of two inches in caliper at six inches above ground level at the time of planting.
