Noise
- Exemptions
Exempt: noises not under direct control, construction/maintenance per Sec. 26-222, safety signals/emergency, transient noises from moving sources (autos, trucks, airplanes, railroads).
- Maximum sound levels
Noise shall not exceed the sound levels prescribed in Table 78-130.2(a) when measured from the property line or any point within any other property affected by the sound.
- Measurement method
Sound level meter using A-weighted network; impulsive sound using fast setting with unweighted peak dB. Meter must meet ANSI S1.4 Type Two and be calibrated annually.
From the ordinance
No machinery, mechanical apparatus or other stationary feature affixed to the property or structure, or operating within a structure operation or activity shall cause or create noise in excess of the sound levels prescribed in the table titled 'Maximum Sound Levels' when measured from the property line of the sound source or any point within any other property affected by the sound.
