Other

  • Access to loading areas

    Every loading area shall be provided with safe and convenient access to a street, but in no case, shall the loading space extend into the required aisle of the parking lot.

  • Delineation and signage

    All loading spaces shall be delineated by signage and striping and labeling of the pavement.

  • Landscaping of loading areas

    Loading areas shall be landscaped in accordance with section 78-110.5, vehicular use areas and section 78-114.2, Screening Standards for certain features.

  • Exterior lighting for loading areas

    Exterior lighting for loading areas shall comply with the standards in section 78-130.9, exterior lighting standards.

  • Location of loading spaces

    The spaces shall be located adjacent to the buildings, loading doors, in an area that promotes their practical use.

  • Paving material for loading areas

    The ground surface of loading areas shall be paved with a durable, dust free and hard material, such as bituminous hot mix or Portland cement, concrete, or some comparable material.

  • Minimum aisle width24 ft

Each loading space required by this section shall be at least 17 feet wide by 25 feet long (or deep), with at least 14 feet of overhead clearance.
